Stephanie Launer Dr. Stephanie Launer is a licensed clinical and school psychologist who contracts with the Chicago Center for Growth and Change to provide therapy services in a telehealth format. She specializes in working with children and families from diverse backgrounds and is currently accepting patients between the ages of 12-18. As a licensed school psychologist, Dr. Launer brings expertise in educational advocacy and school collaboration for neurodiverse youth to our practice. Dr. Launer enjoys treating youth with mood and anxiety problems including depression, anxiety, ADHD, autism, learning disorders, and eating or body image concerns. She also has a special place in her heart for working with children or adolescents of immigrants.

Dr. Launer operates from a client-centered and humanistic orientation which focuses on identifying and building on the strengths of her patients and families. Her approach often incorporates the use of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and emotional regulation techniques. She is trained in a number of evidenced-based modalities including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Family Based Treatment for eating disorders (FBT), Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT), The Kazdin Method and Barkley protocols for child behavior management, and Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE).

Dr. Launer recognizes that not all people will benefit from the same treatment approach, so she strives to partner with her families to focus on their goals. She has experience working in inpatient, outpatient, public schools, and therapeutic school placements. During her training years at Advocate Medical Center and Advocate Children’s Hospital, she cultivated experience facilitating individual, family, and group therapies with neurodevelopmentally diverse children as well as children with complex medical conditions.
