Dr. Mallory PrimmDr. Mallory Primm (she/her) is a licensed clinical psychologist with several years of experience treating children (3 +), adolescents, and adults from diverse backgrounds. Dr. Primm has worked and trained in various settings, including a pediatric psychiatric hospital, schools, community mental health centers, a youth crisis center, and at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center’s (AIMMC) Behavioral Health Services (outpatient and obstetrics and gynecology clinics). Dr. Primm’s training in clinical psychology has prepared her to work with individuals, families, and groups, treating mental health challenges and/or other issues (e.g., low self-esteem, perfectionism, difficulties trusting others) that may be impending fulfillment of one’s well-being.

In addition to Dr. Primm’s training in clinical psychology, she is a certified practitioner of psychodrama by the American Board of Examiners in Psychodrama, Sociometry, and Group Psychotherapy. Psychodrama is a form of expressive arts psychotherapy that uses dramatic enactment to expand and deepen the purely verbal therapy method. Dr. Primm is comfortable integrating psychodrama into individual therapy sessions, depending on the preferences and needs of each person. She also co-facilitates the Monday evening psychodrama group at CCGC, as well as offers psychodrama personal growth workshops and psychodrama training for professionals.

In Dr. Primm’s role as a supportive professional, she employs a sensitive approach to psychotherapy that emphasizes your strengths, self-curiosity, and spontaneity. She strives to create a safe, therapeutic space and collaborative process. Dr. Primm specializes in treating adults facing challenges with anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, social anxiety, relationship challenges, and prenatal/postpartum mental health issues. Dr. Primm also works with children, adolescents, and their families. Her areas of specialty with this population include school and behavioral concerns, self-harm, exposure to trauma, and adjustment concerns. She is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy for social anxiety.
